The Journées d'Informatique Musicale is an annual meeting of researchers in computer music and musicians who use the computer as a means of expression or as a tool for composition. In 1999, the sixth edition of this meeting occured may 17-19 in the auditorium of the CNET, France Telecom's center for Research and Development at Issy-Les-Moulineaux, a very close suburb of Paris. JIM 99 was organized byJean-Michel Raczinski (CEMAMu) with the help of ADERIM,the French Ministry of Culture and SFIM.
