Règlement du concours de composition musicale acousmatique " PRIX SCRIME "

1. Le concours de composition acousmatique " PRIX SCRIME " est organisé par le SCRIME avec la participation du Conservatoire National de Région de Bordeaux, d'Octandre et de l'Ina-GRM.

2. Le concours SCRIME est ouvert aux compositeurs français et étrangers nés à partir du 1er Janvier 1965.

3. Les oeuvres devront relever du genre musique électroacoustique acousmatique (sur support).

4. Il ne peut être présenté qu'une oeuvre, d'une durée comprise entre 8 et 15 minutes.

5. Le standard technique de présentation des pièces est :
- cassette numérique DAT, 44,1 kHz ou 48 kHz - ou gravé sur CD-R audio.

6. A l'oeuvre devra obligatoirement être jointe la fiche de renseignements, dont l'absence rendrait l'inscription nulle.

7. L'oeuvre présentée doit avoir été composée dans les deux années précédentes. Elle peut avoir été jouée en concert, mais ne doit pas avoir fait l'objet d'une publication discographique, ni obtenu un Prix à la date de l'épreuve finale.

8. Les oeuvres primées resteront au studio SCRIME, à des fins d'écoute pédagogique. Les oeuvres non primées resteront trois mois à la disposition de leurs auteurs, contre remboursement des frais de réexpédition, adressé au préalable sous forme de mandat postal ou chèque international en devises françaises ou euros à l'ordre du SCRIME.

9. L'envoi des candidatures et des pièces en colis postal recommandé devra parvenir au SCRIME au plus tard le 15 mars 2000, le cachet de la poste faisant foi. Aucun port dû, ni frais de dédouanement ne pourra être pris en charge par le SCRIME.

10. Six oeuvres seront retenues en présélection. Elles constitueront le programme d'un concert, au cours duquel sera effectuée la sélection finale.
La présélection sera définie au plus tard le 15 avril 2000.
La date du concert est fixée au mercredi 17 mai 2000 au centre André Malraux à Bordeaux.
Cette présélection fera l'objet d'une publication CD ultérieure par l'Ina-GRM.

11. Les compositeurs sélectionnés sont invités à venir interpréter leur oeuvre sur le système de diffusion du SCRIME lors du concert du 17 mai 2000.
Une participation aux frais de voyage d'un montant maximum de 1000 FF , ainsi que deux jours défrayés sont pris en charge par le SCRIME.
Au cas où le compositeur ne pourrait ou ne souhaiterait pas exécuter lui-même son oeuvre, il s'en remettra sans réserve à l'interprète que le comité de présélection aura choisi.

12. Les trois Prix seront décernés à l'issue du concert, selon les modalités suivantes :
- le " PRIX SCRIME ", d'un montant de 10. 000 FF, après délibération et vote du Jury.
- le " Prix du Public " d'un montant de 5 000 FF, après dépouillement des bulletins par un représentant du Public et un représentant du Jury.
- le " Prix Octandre " d'un montant de 4000 FF, après délibération et vote du Jury.
Les trois votes resteront indépendants. Les candidats ne sont pas admis à voter.
Le Jury se réserve la possibilité de ne pas attribuer de prix, ou de ne pas donner suite au projet de disque compact.
En tout état de cause le choix du Public donnera lieu à un Prix.

13. Le Jury sera composé de huit membres :
- le directeur artistique et un membre du SCRIME
- deux compositeurs de l'Ina-GRM
- deux compositeurs d'Octandre
- deux professionnels du monde musical bordelais
Ce jury désignera en son sein un comité et un président, dont la voix sera prépondérante.
Les Prix seront décernés et annoncés publiquement à l'issue du Concert par le président du jury.
Les résultats seront communiqués sous huitaine aux intéressés absents lors du Concert.
Les lauréats s'engagent à faire figurer la mention " PRIX SCRIME 2000 " dans les programmes comportant leur oeuvre primée.
Les décisions du Jury n'auront pas à être motivées et seront sans appel.

Rules of the acousmatic music composition competition " Prix SCRIME "

1. The acousmatic composition competition " PRIX SCRIME "is organised by the SCRIME with the participation of the Conservatoire National de Région de Bordeaux (National Conservatory, Bordeaux Region), Octandre and the Ina-GRM.

2. The competition SCRIME is open to composers from France and abroad, born after January 1, 1965.

3. The works must be electroacoustic acousmatic (recorded).

4.The competitor may present only a single work, between 8 and 15 minutes in length.

5. The technical standard for presentation of works is :
- digital audio tape DAT, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz - CD-R audio.

6. The work must be accompanied by the entry form and requested documents ; absence of these documents will automatically disqualify the entry.

7. The work presented must have been composed during the last two years. It may have been presented in concert, but it MAY NOT have been published in the form of a recording NOR have received a prize prior to the date of the final selection.

8. Prizewinning works will be kept at the studio SCRIME and used for teaching purposes only. Non prizewinning works will remain available to their authors for three months, however the composer is responsible for the payment of all postal costs, payable in advance by international money order, by check in french currency or in Euros made to the order of : SCRIME.

9. Entries should be sent by registred mail and must reach the SCRIME by the 15 th of march 2000 (indicated by the date as postmarked). The SCRIME will not pay for any postage fees or customs duties.

10. Six works will be preselected as finalists. These works will make up the concert's program for the final selection of the prizewinning works.
The preselection will be announced by the 15th of april 2000.
The concert will be held on the 17th of may 2000 at the André Malraux Center in Bordeaux.
This preselected works will be part of a CD made later by the Ina-GRM.

11. Selected composers are invited to interpret their work, on the diffusion system of the SCRIME, in concert on the 17th of may 2000.
The SCRIME will contribute a maximum of 1,000 FF for travelling, plus two days' expenses.
If the composer cannot or does not wish to diffuse his work, the interpretation of his work shall be at the discretion of the interpreter chosen by the selection committee.

12. The three prizes will be awarded after the concert according to the following procedures :
- the " PRIX SCRIME ", of 10,000 FF, awarded after deliberation and vote of the jury.
- the " Prix du Public " of 5,000 FF, awarded after votes have been counted by one member of the audience and one member of the jury.
- the " Prix Octandre " of 4,000 FF, awarded after deliberation and vote of the jury.
The three votes will be held independently. The candidates may not participate in the vote.
The jury may choose not to award a prize or not to fabricate the projected compact disc.
The Public's choice will be awarded a prize in any event.

13. The jury will be comprised of eight members :
- the artistic director with one member of the SCRIME.
- two composers from the Ina-GRM
- two composers from Octandre
- two professionnals of Bordeaux's music community.
This jury will choose, among itself, a committee and a chairman, whose voices will be preponderant.
The prizes will be announced publicly after the concert by the chairman.
The results will be sent to absent candidates during the week following the concert.
Prize winners agree to mention " PRIX SCRIME 2000 " in all programs including their award winning work.
The decisions of the jury are final.
